Bride and bridesmaids laugh during photo in Falconhurst wedding venue

FALCONHURST WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER, TUNBRIDGE WELLS

Elegance in the Most English of Wedding Venues

Twenty minutes west of Tunbridge Wells in Kent, rests a dream location where one can choose to have their wedding story told. Marry at Falconhurst and you’ll feel that you have become set – as a diamond must feel upon its ring – onto the pages of England’s historical timeline.

The day here started inside the main house, where Natasha and her bridesmaids were preparing for the day. It really is a film-like setting in which to begin a wedding day and there was excitement plus, perhaps, a few healthy nerves!

The Holy Trinity Church in Markbeech is a short stroll away from Falconhurst

Following their ceremony, Natasha & William lead a convoy of their most precious friends & family down the 300m woodland path back to Falconhurst. This was the most happy stroll!!

They were each greeted by a glass of champagne as they stepped into the walled garden of magnificent flowers, lily-ponds & butterflies.

The house dog! I’ve got a golden retriever at home myself, so I was delighted to see this fluffy thing!!

You photographed my brother’s wedding at Falconhurst – we absolutely LOVED you!! Are you available for our wedding too…?

The Groom’s Brother

The lawn in front of the main house is a good spot for a few relaxed group shots. Looking out from one of the top windows is perfect for a large group shot, with extensive views towards the Ashdown Forest.

Following a large group shot from the house window, as the guests ambled down to the marquee for the speeches and wedding breakfast, this was the perfect time to get a few ‘couple shots’ of Natasha and William

Natasha’s dress was by Elegance Bridal

The marquee was supplied by Shades Canvas
The bride & bridesmaids’ hair & makeup were done by Ellen Dalton
Catering was provided by Elm Green, who use organic ingredients

I keep an eye on the sun as it get closer to the horizon in the evening. Often having done the majority of ‘couple shots’ before the wedding breakfast, I like to invite my bride & groom away from the action as the sun goes down, just for a few minutes, to get some more shots.

Flowers were by Bloomin Gayles
Cake was made by….Natasha’s mum!!

And that was another good day! 🙂

Thank you to Tash and Will for being an absolute pleasure to photograph. You’re one of the reasons why I love my job.

I usually deliver close to (or over) 1,000 photographs to my wedding couples. If you’d like to see more from this wedding, please click this link:

GETTING MARRIED AT FALCONHURST

Falconhurst has two venues geared up for weddings; the Garden (as in my images on this post) and, separately, the Barn.

The Falconhurst Garden

Choose the Falconhurst Garden and throughout your time here your guests can wander the woods, enjoy its wider spaces and explore the more hidden corners of beautifully tended gardens. The flowers grow tall. Bees and butterflies will share the land too – this is a spectacular place – and an absolute dream to photograph.

The Garden is the ideal option if you like the idea of a bespoke experience – offering the opportunity to completely design your wedding yourselves, bringing in your own suppliers to paint your perfect wedding picture!

There is room to bring in a marquee/teepee to the size of 200 guests on the lawn.

The Garden – the cost

The cost for the Gardens is £4,000+vat. There are further costs, of course, for the marquee or teepee that you choose to hire. Also, accommodation in the house comes at a extra cost.

The Falconhurst Barn

The wedding featured here is shot in The Garden, but there is also the option of the Falconhurst Barn. This is a more recent addition and is ideal for smaller weddings of up to 80 people. Here, you can enjoy the gardens outside the Barn itself and the Lake that lies next to it. You can also enjoy reception drinks inside the amazing walled garden (seen in my photographs on this blog). Both options are stunning!

The Barn – the cost

The cost for the Barn is £6,500+vat and includes the following:

  • The Barn hire for 3 days – Friday/Saturday/Sunday
  • Kitchen hire (for you and/or your caterer)
  • A rustic bar – staffed!
  • Tables & chairs
  • A 12x9m marquee
  • Lighting, wooden flooring, toilets, heating
  • A ceremony slot in Holy Trinity Markbeech Church, if this is what you desire

You can see the full list of what is included on their website HERE.
